I was campaigning outside Burton's IGA in Euroa this afternoon - it was really interesting to hear what issues were important to different people. I was asked for my opinion on everything from whaling to Safe Schools, where I live, whether I have children, my age and what I do for a living. Most people seem quite supportive, which is a big confidence boost :).
I've been invited to drop in to the Euroa Gazette later this week for a chat and this evening, I put up the first of my corflute signs and am planning to put more up around the electorate tomorrow.
I should also say, I received two unsolicited donations - one from a gentleman who stopped for a chat and signed my nomination form, he gave me $20 towards my nomination fee. The second was $5 from a gentleman who walked past a couple of times but didn't say anything to me or even take a flyer, I guess it was a show of support in response to my running as an independent..?
