Back in July, I was lucky enough to attend a round-table meeting with the Victorian Minister for Women and Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence, as part of her department's Gender Equity Framework consultation.
It was great to meet other people working in the field and hear about their experiences and services. One woman I met works with the Courageous Conversations mob, working with schools, sporting clubs and workplaces to prevent family violence.
Whether or not I'm elected in October, I hope we as a community can take advantage of these kinds of initiatives to better support those who have or are experiencing trauma..
